I just got home from my eye checkup and contact lens training. Yeah, I decided to get a contact lens after so many years of wearing prescription glasses. But I will only wear contact lens when I go out to party, clubs, etc coz I look really nerdy with eye glasses =P. My prescription glasses is not available yet because they still need to get an approval from my health insurance. I actually save $400 with my insurance. My prescription went up two steps higher and I still have astigmatism.
Anyways, so I had the training session and the guy was patient enough to teach me what to do. It was really hard to insert the lens coz you have to really keep your eye wide open. I think it took me 4 tries before I was able to insert the lens correctly. I have different presciption on my left and right eye so I have to put a label on each box.
So here's the steps on how to insert the lens:
1. Hold your upper eyelid or lashes to hinder blinking.
2. Pull your bottom eyelid down using your middle finger
3. Look forward at the lens and gently situate it in the center of your eye.
4. Remove your finger and let the bottom eye lid go before the top.
5. Look down to position the lens.
6. Close your eye for a moment.
Removing the lens is a LOT harder... here's the steps:
1. Looking up, pull down your lower eyelid with the middle finger of your inserting hand.
2. Bring your index finger close to your eye until you touch the lower edge of the lens.
3. Slide the lens down to the lower white part of your eye.
4. Gently squeeze the lens between your thumb and index finger and remove it from your eye.

I will have to wear the lens for 4 hours today, then 6 hours tomorrow and 8 hours the next day until I get used to it. I would need to go back next week coz the doctor will check if my eyes has adjusted to the contact lens. I'm currently wearing the one that's not for astigmatism.

how cool, may so-called contact lens training pa ha!
I hope that I'll have 20/20 vision forever! Glasses will surely irritate me and contacts will surely irritate me more! :) Goodluck with the contacts. Astigmatisms should be 'cured' in a crtain amt of time, right?
