Darwin's aunt and cousin are visiting from Canada. For the whole week, all we did was eat out with them!!
Aug 21 - Kyochon Korean Fried Chicken
Love it! We discovered this fast food restaurant last week but this is already the 3rd time we've been here. The chicken is soooo addicting. It's so crunchy and it tastes really good. We'll be back for more. I just hope it's near our home so we can just order by phone for delivery.
Aug 24 - Salu Salo in Glendale
We decided to eat some Filipino food. We LOVE this restaurant too coz they have BIG servings and good food. The wait is not that long compared to Max's. We used to go the Max's whenever we have visitors but for now, Salu Salo is a good alternative.
Aug 25 - Pink Berry
Love this froyo (frozen yogurt) place. It's good that there's no line when we got there. Yeah, they are now famous because celebs like Paris, L Lo, and Nicole hangs out at pink berry. I had the original yogurt with stawberry, banana and mango. Yummy!
I went to the gym for my Kickbox Cardio class with Sigrid. She's supposed to use the day pass so she can get in for free but she's under age. She's only 11 but she passed as being 15 years old.. but to get in for free with a member, she must show her ID and she must be at least 18 years old. I tried to convince the guy to let us through but he didn't allow us. He said that we might sue them coz something might happen to Sigrid blah-blah.I was really upset and I remember I said something that's soooo NOT me.. I said.. "This is unbelievable!!!" HAHAHA. Sigrid was shocked too.
Anyway, I just paid the day pass for $15. The class started at 945am sharp and the instructor is new. He's Ok and sort of funny coz he makes faces =P We went swimming afterwards for about 15minutes then went home. On our way home, we got really hungry. In Canada, they dont have In-N-Out so I decided to treat her. She enjoyed her cheese burger meal.

Happy 4th anniversary

We celebrated it at Benihana. I've been wanting to go there since my birthday and finally we had a chance to eat there. =) I've never been to a teppan-yaki restaurant and this is a very unique experience coz the chef performs some tricks while cooking =P I had Seafood combination (lobster tail, scallops and shrimp) and Darwin had the Hibachi steak.

Silver Wedding
We just got home from Bakersfield after eating breakfast at my aunt's house. I'm still tired from the 2 hour drive but I dont want to rest or sleep..so I decided to transfer all pix to my PC and upload to ofoto while blogging. =P
It was their silver wedding celebration last night at Coco Joe's. Darwin was assigned to be the DJ and I'm the photographer. My aunt was asking me if we'll going to put up a business coz it's a perfect match.. you know for parties and all. Hmmm, it's just a hobby I guess but who knows =P Anyways, we got there an hour early and the restaurant is still closed, so went to Sonic for lunch. We don't have Sonic in LA and the place is kinda nostalgic coz you'll order from your car and eat it there. But since it's gonna be too messy, we just ate at one of the "few" tables outside.
We went back to Coco Joe's and met up with my relatives and introduced Darwin. They like him =) We setup the DJ equipments and my cousins helped as well. They have a really nice ambiance, it has a tiki theme and everyone is wearing a Hawaiian attire. The party started at 5:30pm sharp but the food was not served until 7pm. Ooohh, I was sooo hungry so while waiting for food, I took a lot of pix.
The food was Ok.. maybe because I'm still full from the burger I had at Sonic. I got to meet some of AJ's friends and there's this one cute girl who's only 14 that's being paired with my cousin Sernan. Oh, young love. They look cute together.
There were about an hour of presentation before the REAL party started. DJ Darwin started playing Top40s until my aunt requested 70s/80s music for the oldies =P Oh, Darwin was bringing down the house, everyone was dancing and I'm so PROUD that my lovey is spinning. =P
When it's time for HipHop, youngsters (including me.. hahaha) went to the dance floor and showed what they can do. It was funny when my cousins danced coz they did this crazy step I've never seen before. I went back to check on Darwin and there's a lot people asking for "their" song but there's this one crazy guy who requested for "sweet" music. How can you make a transition from hiphop to sweet?
The party ended at 11pm sharp and we left after 30 minutes. We went to my aunt's house for the "after party" and Darwin told me that it's only like 7pm coz everyone is still up at 12mn. =P We had dinner, videoke, beer and margaritas. We called it a night at 2am.
SOME PIX...

Umbrella
Love it!
I heard Marie Digby's cover of Umbrella while watching The Hills.. which is one of my fave shows on MTV.
I think her version is way better than Rihanna's =P
You can check her myspace profile here...
http://www.myspace.com/mariedigby
She's just amazing! I watched all her videos on youtube. She got famous because of youtube, then Star 98.7 heard her cover and played it on air, then she guested on Carson Daly show, and now she's gettin' a lot of attention. I even wiki'd her but she's not on it yet.

Weekend update
Finally, all my meetings are over! It's been like this for the past couple of weeks and I felt like I'm not productive enough because I do not have much time to do my "real" work. Now I know why my boss is gonna provide me a laptop, so I can do more work at home. =( I need it though because I need to communicate with our offshore team in India. It's better to stay up late for 2 hours to get status updates than wait the next day coz the project will just keep on getting dragged... Anyways... back to MY so called life =)
Yesterday, I went to my photo class in Studio City with Elise and we learned more stuff and helpful tidbits that we didn't take from our previous class. I went to Blockbuster to rent some movies and I got Hot Fuzz and Big Nothing. I cooked beef steak for dinner.. We're actually planning to go to DJ Shortee's gig but I was sooo tired and I fell asleep while watching the news.
Aug 8 (Wed) - I left early from work coz I have a dental appointment at 3pm. I got there 30 minutes early so I played some games from my iphone and surfed some sites. I didn't realize that two effin hours has already passed. I was so upset that I asked the front desk what's going on. They finally called me at 5pm. They had to do deep cleaning but it was not covered by my insurance so I have to pay $100 extra. When my dentist is about to start, the water was not working so I have to move to another room. I waited for another 30 effin minutes. I almost walked out but if I do that, it will take forever to get another appointment. So, I waited.
We went to church for the Perpetual Help novena. This is the 3rd time that Darwin went with me and I hope it continues every week =) On our next visit, it is Immaculate Concepcion, so there will be a mass instead of a novena. We went to Farmer's Market in Northridge to meet the gang. This is the second time I've been there and I like it because you just sit there and relax and hang out with your friends. We had hotdog wrapped on bacon.. YUMMY!
Aug 7 (Tue) - I remember I have accomplished a lot of things this day. I went to Topanga mall to get a replacement battery for my Tag, then I did some work clothes shopping at H&M. I LOVE that store! They've just opened last month. I went to Victoria Secret to get my free gift, then I went to Best Buy to get a UV filter lens for my SLR camera. I then went to Costco to do some grocery. I finally found the stuffed salmon that Darwin is craving and I got some creme brulee. We watched "The Shooter" which is really good.
Aug 6 (Mon) - Went to the gym. I havn't been to the gym for the last 3 weeks and I need to go back to my kickbox cardio class. I run on the treadmill and burned 250 calories.
Aug 5 (Sun) - Went to church at 7pm then we just stayed home and watched Entourage.
Aug 4 (Sat) - This was a looong day. We went to Santa Monica pier for Darwin's LA Marathon training. I took pictures on the beach while he's doing his thing.. then we went to Griddle cafe for brunch and I had this HUGE pancake and Darwin had scrambled eggs. Afterwards, we went to Japan LA to check the tokidoki shirts and other stuff they're selling. They really have cute ones! Darwin got me a tokidoki shirt =)
We went to Northridge mall to get a replacement battery for my Tag but they dont have same day service so they referred me to their other store. We bought 40 dice at Toys R Us for the game we'll introduce with the gang. I went to my photo class from 3-5pm then I went straight to the twins house.
There's a welcome party for Eric's wife, Kristina. We played the Liar's dice and for anyone who loses, they will take a shot of Patron tequila. Paulo won and each one of us had 5 Patron shots. Almost everyone got drunk. We then decided to continue the party at Highlands were DJ Shortee is spinning.. She's really good! I met her at Darwin's DJ class and she was his teacher. She's nice too and she is as short as me, so I guess that's why she chose that name =) Anyways, she played a lot of hip hop music and she keeps it upbeat and there's NO way you would even think of going to the bar and sit coz you'd dance non stop. But I had to rest coz my feet is killing me.
After clubbing, we went to IHOP for dinner/breakfast. We went home at 4am.

San Diego Getaway
It's the COMICON weekend.
We decided to stay in San Diego for the whole weekend because when we went there last year for Comicon, everything was like a blur and we're so tired and sleepy. This year, we'd like to relax and explore San Diego more... we included the Wild Animal Park, Coronado Island, and Oldtown SD on our trip.
We arrived around 10ish on Friday and I remember I was so hungry that I'll eat anything. We checked in to our hotel first then we had dinner at Denny's. We both had T-bone steak with eggs and I ordered buffalo chix. We went back to our hotel and slept.
Saturday, we woke up really early so we can avoid the long lines at the convention center. We got in at 9:30am and we went straight to the booths and did some shopping. I like to buy cute japanese style shirt at Comicon, coz you get it cheaper and you wont see anyone wearing the same shirt coz it's limited. I was about to buy something at one of the stores then Darwin called me and stopped me from buying the shirt. He saw the Tokidoki store and people are all going crazy. I dont know anything about Tokidoki until Aileen introduced me to Lesportsac. I find their shirts cute. Darwin got a shirt too. I'd actually want to buy more shirts but I run out of cash. =P I might go to JapanLA this weekend to check more Tokidoki stuff. I'm soo addicted that I read everthing about it in one sitting.
I got a bag full of FREE stuff as well. There's also a lot of cosplayers at the event and they're kind enough to let me take their picture. Some will be posted on my mutiply site.
We went to Coronado Island for the ferry ride at 4ish. It's nice to just sit and relax at the ferry. We had dinner at Little Thai cafe afterwards.
Since it's still early to go home, we decided to go to Old Town San Diego to watch The Simpsons movie. They dont have it there so went to Fashion Valley mall which is closer to our hotel. When we got there, Darwin went straight to Bloomingdales and he bought me a LeSportsac Tokidoki purse =P Thanks sweetness. hehe The Simpsons movie is sold out so we waited for another hour and hanged out at Borders. I read some magazine while waiting.

The movie was HILARIOUS. You must go and see it. The famous catch phrase... "I like men now". I LAUGHED soooo hard! You'll know what im talking about when you see it.
SUNDAY - Safari Caravan Tour @ Wild Animal Park
Went to McDonalds for breakfast before going to the park. This is the first time we're going together to the zoo. I decided to include this on our trip coz I'd like to take pictures of animals and to do the safari experience. We got there 10 minutes before our group leaves for the tour. I took the tickets from the guest center because I already bought it 2 weeks ago... and she gave us the direction on how to get to the meeting place. We run and after a few minutes we realized We got lost. It is so upsetting because they have poor signage and map. Good thing our party waited for us.
The ride was just amazing. It an experience that's really different because you'll get an up close encouter with the animals, hand-feed the giraffes and get really close photo ops with most of the endangered species that's just too sad. The park has two of the rare white rhinos..but they are infertile. there are approximately 7 of them remaining in the world and 2 are in this park.
I really enjoyed taking pictures when we were there.
