Havaianas Heaven

July 27, Thursday.. We went to the SPREE at Long Beach because we got 5 complimentary tickets from this lady who invited us to attend the seminar. We arrived at 9ish, just before Retail 101 starts. Anyways, after the seminar, we had lunch at Chili's and I had their Classic Sirloin Steak and Darwin had Grilled Baby Back Ribs. yummy!!! After lunch, we went to Irvine Spectrum to check out something and since we're near Costa Mesa.. we went to American Sole. =P

I discovered their website (http://www.americansole.com/) thru Pia Magalona and I decided to go to the store and take a look at all their collections. They have lots of new styles.. I asked the sales lady if she gets orders from the Philippines.. they do and she gets a LOT. Actually they don't ship international orders but there's this guy from New York who orders (in bulk!!!) from them then ships it to Manila. Crazy huh?

I asked if they have Powerpuff since my Forces girls want it, but they dont have it (yet). I got the Heart in Light Pink. I'm supposed to get the Wonder woman but they run out of size 5. They'll get my size in 2 weeks.. Darn =P When she rung me up, the lady puts the Havaianas in a plastic.. I asked if it comes in a box.. it doesn't =(

The store

GIANT!!!

They have 4 sets of stands full of Havaianas

My Wonder woman (sana?!)

His and Hers

Singit... =P After the seminar at Long Beach

Comicon @ San Diego

July 22 (Sat). It's nice to be back in SD!!! The last time I went to San Diego was Sep 2003 when my relatives took me to Sea World. Oh, I miss Shamu (the white whale) hehehe... Ok, back to what I'm supposed to blog.. we reached San Diego Convention Center around 11am and there was a really looooong line. So I decided to get off the car and fall in line while Darwin's looking for a parking space. It took us an an hour to get in. I told Darwin that I'll just follow him coz I dont know anything about comics. All I want to see are the cosplayers coz I admire their creativity. So while we're walking, I stopped by on one of the booths to check out what their selling and as I look back, Darwin's out of my sight. So I continued walking and minding my own business until I reached the DC booth. I called Darwin because he likes DC characters, but his cell is out of reach. I took a lot of "swags" and he's still out of reach. Finally I got a ring and he's really upset coz he was trying to contact me for the last 20 minutes. I told him I was trying to call him too but it drops all the time. I guess there's high call traffic at that time. So we ate lunch and we walked together. =P The booth that I really love is the Nintendo booth. I got the "Limited" Mario posters from the lady who distributes them. I'm allowed to get one poster only but she gave me three. Sweet.

Darwin gave me a pink "japan" style shirt which is really cute and he got an "OTAKU" Oakley shirt (like in Spoofs). He's a self-proclaimed geek. Otaku means geek =P

Wifi hotspot

Hola! I'm at Rancho Park Public Library and I'm using their free wifi internet. I returned one of the books because I can't renew it anymore. I decided to stay and hangout for awhile to check my email and my friends' blogs. I got the "sweet" seat coz it's strategically located where nobody walks pass it. But my laptop run out of battery and now I'm just sitting on a couch. It's a comfy couch though so it's ok. What I like about LA's library is that I can do eveything online... renewing and reserving a book is really easy. Before, when I need something and it's only available at the downtown library, I have to go there and pick it up. Now, I have an option to reserve it online then deliver it here.

Weekend? stayed at home most of the time and I watched 3 movies in one day... Drumline at brunch, IL Mare at siesta time (3ish) and Munich at dinner.

Friday? I had a dentist appointment for some filling (pasta) and cleaning (propylaxis). It was a lucky day for me coz there's not that much patient at that time. Usually, there's a loooong wait and I get in after 30mins. That's how bad it is. Then I went to Qualitative Insights for some marketing survey on fabric softener which they need for research or some sort. I heard this song playing from this guy's phone while I was answering the questionnaire.. it's sooo good but I dont know the title. On my way home while I was listening to KIIS, it played and it's U and Dat by T-pain with E-40.. I DL'd it right after I got home. It keeps playing on my ipod now.

How to get rid of something you don't need

It's not easy.. like this virus I was trying get rid of. It took me two hours to delete it. The virus is called "Downloader" and I got some tips from Symantec on how to remove it. So, I followed the instruction but I still cant delete it. What's worse is that the pop-up keeps popping. Such annoyance =P So I googled the virus and found some more tips and instruction... download this, download that and finally when I installed and run ewido anti-spyware, it has detected 63 malwares. Good. After 10 safe-mode reboots and 2 complete system scan, I'm virus FREE!!!!

Anyways, I'm depressed. Lonely. I feel like breaking down. I don't need this D.R.A.M.A. I just want to be happy again. I pray to God for guidance. Please fill me with so much love Lord. Oh, I was able to contact the SFC chapter in LA. I hope I can start next week.

The Result

Last night, our prof gave us the result of our midterms and I got an A+ (mag-brag ba daw?) One mistake lng.. sheezz.. hehehe Anyways, mataas ang average score ng class but the lowest was 70% daw, so nobody failed pa rin. I like the prof, he's nice. Actually, kilala nya na ako coz on my way to our classroom, he said "You're Mitzi, right?" =P Remind nya ako sa presentation and I said I'd do it that night pero prefer nya na pakita ko codes ko. I said, I'll just do it on the white board, pero he'd like me to bring my CD... okaaay =P So, next meeting na lng.

I will soon move my blog to tabulas coz it has an archive option. I want to have a backup of all of my entries. So watch out for it.

I'm soooo down today. I'd like to do something I've never done before but I cant think of any. I want some ME time.. I dont want to get stuck in my room but I dont want to shell out money too. =P So, I made a list:

- read a book @ Starbux
- watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (forces.. did u see it na?)
- roadtrip but I dont want to drive, I'll just take the bus
- learn to play the violin (Jan... parang gusto ko rin)
- look for SFC here in LA (Delfin, wala pa rin ako makita.. help. hehehe)
- go to Venice beach and take pictures

Havaianas Craze

My first Havaianas =P

At Val Surf

Ok, after seeing Abbie's blog and Pia's collection of this famous flip-flops.. I got too curious about it. I heard it's really comfortable and all so I went to Bloomingdale's to check it out but they're not selling it. Then I went to Pacsun but they dont have it either. So we decided to surf the net at Apple store to check the nearest Havaianas authorized retailers in the valley and found out that Tilly's selling it. We left Fashion Square at 5ish to go to Tilly's but it turned out that they dont have it too... I'm starting to lose hope of finding one but the salesperson told us to check ValSurf at Studio City. So we went and finally they have Havaianas =P They don't have that much havaianas styles though so I guess Havaianas is not that HOT here in LA. They don't even gave me a box. I got the Fruits collection in Citrus Green.. you know since I loooove green!!! =P

Here's the one of the candid pics from iMac @ Apple store while we're surfing the net...

PS: Found this site and they have LOTS of collection and it's in Costa Mesa!!!
visit American Sole.. Oh, and a flip-flop for $130?! That's crazy.

More PS: You can actually make your own Havaianas. I wonder when will be the next event here in LA. See http://www.clickthecity.com/cityzones/?p=981

The Hills

I love this show. =P This is Laguna Beach spinoff and I just love LC. She moved from Laguna Beach to the City of Angels to study and work and she gets to juggle these things with Jason, her on and off again boyfriend. Watching this show also gives me an idea where to hangout here in LA. The only problem is I dont have moolah =P Need to save up!!

I'm still reading Angels and Demons and I'd say it's VERY interesting. There's this one time when I got so into it that I forgot to move my laundry to the dryer. I bought iL Mare at ebay last week and it hasnt't shipped yet. I emailed the seller and all she tells me is that it will ship soon.. HOW SOON?? I cant wait anymore =P

Last Tuesday was a holiday and Andrew was here. He's soooo adorable. Here's a picture of him playing the drums. Oh, Darwin and I "jammed" last night and we played Pare Ko by Eraserheads.. I played the drums and he played the guitar then we switched, Oh, it's been a loooong time since I havn't played the guitar. I miss it..
