Hello.. I’m at Starbucks, it's right across Sony pictures.. and I got free wifi access... woohoo!! Got bored so I decided to hangout ALONE… Anyway, it's just a couple of blocks from my apartment so... I can stay whenever. Darn, this is fun... I ordered my fave drink.. white choco mocha.. (I love anything with mocha mind you) Actually, I was thinking of ordering mocha frap but it’s freaking cold here in Culver, so I settled for a hot drink. OMG,, cant believe what I just read… For the first time in my entire life.. my name was spelled correctly.. and I didn’t even spell it out loud to the lady who took my order.. Hmm does it mean anything? Oh well.. I don’t make any sense at all..

A cup of coffee, laptop with wifi access, a pad and a pen
I see a lot of “loners” here in Starbucks with their laptops in front of them like they don’t care about anything.. I read an article that people here in LA are so dispersed that they're used to being alone. Sad but true.. I’m not that kind of person. I always want to have someone to talk to, to have someone to share my interests with.. but I don’t think that works here.. you really need to learn to depend ONLY to yourself. I’m learning you know but I’m still in the adjustment stage. Still.
While surfing, I got a message in friendster from a friend in high school (Edweird) asking what “computer girl” meant (my occupation) and he’s the only one who noticed it. =P Yeah, I’m with the Information Technology department. My manager resigned last year and her position was never filled (and I think they have no plans of hiring someone)… so most of her responsibilities were transferred to me. I just completed one of the projects that the president assigned to me and its working perfectly. Actually, this is not the first, it’s the 5th project and he’s happy with all of its result. Now, I don’t know how to approach him for a raise. Any idea(s) fellow bloggers? I know it’s timing and all.. but I don’t have the guts.. Oh darn it.. I just need something that will keep me going.
Ok-ok.. it’s getting late.. I’d better be heading back. Tah-tah!

hayyy, bagay pala ako dyan eh! i'm cool with being alone in public places as long as it is not an environment where i actually know people (like: i don't want to eat alone in our office cafeteria. i'd rather eat alone at some mall than in our cafeteria. gets?)
does starbucks have tazo green tea there? that's what i get when my throat is scratchy and i cant drink fancy-flavored coffee ;)
about asking for a raise: you can raise (haha, pun intended!) the "raise" issue in your annual evaluation/appraisal. or if u cant wait for that, maybe kuha ka lng ng timing with your pres. it would be great if you hear praises/good feedback from him re: the projects you worked with... if you know that he thinks you're good in your work, you can leverage on that. and then ok rin if you could get concrete data (like if sa sales, you say something like "i increased revenue by X% this year") with numbers to tangibly support the good work that you've been doing. with numbers, it's quantitative so in black & white, kita how much you've accomplished... mas convincing ;) good luck! :)
Same here. I prefer being alone most of the time (surprised?). I have to have a lot of ME time.
I am having a Starbucks kick lately, too. Though dati ayaw ko na talaga since I find coffee shops too usual for people to see and be seen. Been experimenting in ordering their drinks lately. Daming delish, in fairness. I especially like their Blended Drinks. Parang Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf din.
Aileen is right. Put it in black and white to solidify your claim and defense. Print yung mga emails mo with praises from them it will help a lot. :) Mas madali nga mag-bargain dyan rather than here eh.
