Just right

Hello.. I’m at Starbucks, it's right across Sony pictures.. and I got free wifi access... woohoo!! Got bored so I decided to hangout ALONE… Anyway, it's just a couple of blocks from my apartment so... I can stay whenever. Darn, this is fun... I ordered my fave drink.. white choco mocha.. (I love anything with mocha mind you) Actually, I was thinking of ordering mocha frap but it’s freaking cold here in Culver, so I settled for a hot drink. OMG,, cant believe what I just read… For the first time in my entire life.. my name was spelled correctly.. and I didn’t even spell it out loud to the lady who took my order.. Hmm does it mean anything? Oh well.. I don’t make any sense at all..

I see a lot of “loners” here in Starbucks with their laptops in front of them like they don’t care about anything.. I read an article that people here in LA are so dispersed that they're used to being alone. Sad but true.. I’m not that kind of person. I always want to have someone to talk to, to have someone to share my interests with.. but I don’t think that works here.. you really need to learn to depend ONLY to yourself. I’m learning you know but I’m still in the adjustment stage. Still.

While surfing, I got a message in friendster from a friend in high school (Edweird) asking what “computer girl” meant (my occupation) and he’s the only one who noticed it. =P Yeah, I’m with the Information Technology department. My manager resigned last year and her position was never filled (and I think they have no plans of hiring someone)… so most of her responsibilities were transferred to me. I just completed one of the projects that the president assigned to me and its working perfectly. Actually, this is not the first, it’s the 5th project and he’s happy with all of its result. Now, I don’t know how to approach him for a raise. Any idea(s) fellow bloggers? I know it’s timing and all.. but I don’t have the guts.. Oh darn it.. I just need something that will keep me going.

Ok-ok.. it’s getting late.. I’d better be heading back. Tah-tah!

Knotts Berry 06.11.05

Hi all!!! I know this post is way tooooo late. I was planning to blog the Knotts Berry experience last Saturday but I'm too dizzy (and bloated). I survived the surgery. Thanks for your prayers. My impacted wisdom teeth was taken out and that experience wasn't easy. I'll post more about it later. But first, lemme do some flashback.. =P

Two weekends ago, Darwin and I went to OC for Knotts Berry Farm. Actually, we've been planning to go there since last year but it didn't materialize. They have this theme every Halloween and they change their name to Knotts "Scary" Farm. It's an hour drive from the valley and we stopped by at his brother's new pad first to give the DVDs her gf's sister requested. He lives a couple of blocks from Disney. Nice location huh.. We arrived at Knotts at 3ish then rode Silver Bullet. It's the new/latest ride in Knotts. I thought Darwin's not gonna ride with me coz he keeps telling me that he's not into roller coasters but he's just teasing... He also wants me to seat with him at the front row (which I havnt done before coz I usually seat in the middle) Dang, that really got me scared. I know Im a thrill seeker and all but you cant let me seat at the front row. Anyway, he convinced me and we sat at the front row. I didn't stop screaming (and cursing hahaha). The second ride we took was GhostRider. I'm not a fan of wooden roller coaster coz my body gets hurt but that was a fun ride. My favorite is Xcelerator.

The Xcelerator.. can you handle this?

Excerpt from Knotts website:
http://www.knotts.com/park/tour/brdwalk/xcelerator.shtml

It hydraulically launches you off the line at an electrifying top speed of 82 mph in 2.3 seconds through an exhilarating 205-foot ascent and immediate descent at a 90-degree angle. And you thought playing back seat bingo at the local passion pit made your heart race! It's no sweat for the two trains, with a capacity of 20 people per train. This hopped up screamer is a 62-second blast from the past for everyone from ankle biters to Big Daddys!

Some ride huh!! I wanna do it again but the line is really long and it's getting really late. We left the park at 7pm.

Subway, Arclight, Universal City Walk

Last Friday, I got off early from work because I have a dentist appointment.. it's for my surgery tomorrow because I have an impacted tooth.. my gawd.. I hope it doesn't hurt that much. First stop is Bangluck Plaza. I bought BBQ siopao at BBQ Unlimited coz I'm sooo hungry. Parked the car at Universal City and took the subway to Hollywood/Highland. It's been awhile since I took the subway. I take the subway to commute to work when I used to live in downtown. In every station, there's a theme and my fave is the Hollywood/Vine station coz it's all Hollywood.

Walked a couple of blocks to Arclight Cinema for Mr & Mrs Smith. The dress that Angelina wore when they danced Tango is displayed there. I can't help but notice the BIG clock too. The movie is ASTIG! They look good together... A must see movies especially for couples =P

Batman Begins.. NOW!

I feel dizzy.. I had 2cups of coffee already but it didn't do any good. Last night, Darwin and I watched Batman Begins at Mann Chinese Theatre in Hollywood/Highland. We wanna watch its midnight screening so we'd be one of the few to see it first.. (Like there's a difference.. hehehe) We decided to go to H&H early to check if there's someone selling Batman t-shirt with its new logo. This Batman-shirt-search started/initiated when we noticed this lady at Knotts Berry farm wearing the Batman Begins t-shirt last Saturday.. Oh, and earlier that night, I went shopping coz Darwin gets off from work late and the mall closes at 9pm. I tried Spencer, Hot Topic and even JC Penney and finally, I found one at Anchor Blue. I thought I got the right one coz it looks "almost" the same as what the Knotts-lady is wearing.. Anyway, we didn't see any shirt in H&H either so we might try Chinatown or maybe after a week, it will be widely available in stores. While killing time, we saw the Batmobile displayed infront of the theatre.

We have "will call" tickets so we bypassed the loooong line.. We got the "sweet" seat.. center and middle row. It helps to be prepared sometimes you know =P. The movie started at exactly 12:45am coz it took 30 more minutes for those sneak peeks. I almost wanna shout.. "C'mon, let's get it started.. I still need to wake up early tomorrow" =P .. I'm not really a Batman fan but this movie is good coz it gave weight and depth on how Bruce Wayne became Batman...My fave line is "Face your fear".. I don't know that he's afraid of bats. Ironic huh?! What do I fear? A lot actually and it's just right to face all of it...

Got home at around 4ish and I only had 3 hours sleep...

MySpace and B-E-P

I was listening to JoJo last Friday @ KIIS-FM when I heard him asking questions about myspace and friendster. He gave his account too and out of curiosity, I checked his profile (http://www.myspace.com/jojoontheradio). A lot of peeps already left testimonials to him. I think it's 100 comments per minute... =P But I'm telling you it's really ALOT!!! He's about to interview Fergie of Black Eyed Peas, so I got BEPs URL too (http://www.myspace.com/blackeyedpeas).. Their new album is HOT.. I have just added the songs to my iPod this morning (which were DL'd last night) and I listened to it on my way to work. They have a single that's pure Tagalog/Filipino.. the song is "Bebot". I like "Don't Phunk with my Heart" too. It's their first single released from the new album.

Wishing and Hoping

Last Saturday, I went to Encino for my 2nd job. It has minimal work and the location is just perfect. The only downside is I need to get up early.. But Im still thankful coz it's not easy to get a part time job in LA. When I got home, I slept some more and since Darwin is with his mom in OC, I get a chance to be alone. I watched Life Aquatic and it's a dark comedy flick... all the cast are weird.. but it's funny.. I cleaned the apartment after watching the movie.. I love cleaning and throwing away stuff. The problem is once it's gone, I can never take it back... that always happen to me.. so I guess you'll only see the value of something once it is gone.. hmmm.. beats me.

I got a call from Jill and we talked for like an hour. I know there's still a lot of catching up to do when we meet. Oh, I guess I just miss her. I wish she can move closer to where I live.. =P She invited me to come with her to the miraculous cross in Canoga Park. You know I need a lot of miracle these days. =P I told her I'll just carpool with her so I wont bring the car with me. While watching "Whose wedding is it anyway?" in Style Network, I cooked cornedbeef and ate lunch at 4ish. That's pretty late huh.. Got dressed and Jill picked me up at 6ish. I met her friend and the friend of her friend (got it? hehehe). When we arrived, the mass has just started. The "Holy Cross" as what they coined it, is somewhat questionable. I dunno.. but my faith is still strong, it's just that I hope it is not made up.. There's a fellowship after the mass and the lady who witnessed the holy cross shared her experience. I took a 2nd look on the cross and prayed my petitions. We left at 9ish and Cheryl invited us to her condo. We had videoke and ate dinner (again... for the 3rd time) Pictures will be posted later.

Sunday, after work, Darwin picked me up for Yuna's christening. He's the godfather =) We both have our first godchild this year (finally.. hehehe I had mine with Ate Gigi's daughter last Jan 17 and DJ was my proxy). The church ceremony is already over so we went straight to the reception.. it's in Stargazer. It's a small intimate party with family and close friends so I'm glad to be part of it. Yuna's mother is Darwin's aunt. So that makes Yuna his 2nd cousin.. Crazy huh? Had a quick chat with Tita Zita coz we need to leave for church. We decided to go to OLP for the 6pm mass. Darwin told me he doesn't want to go to church but I know he's doing the reverse psychology thingie again, so I said he should sacrifice his precious time for it and one hour wont hurt. Then he said it's not a sacrifice but it's a celebration =) Ok.. ok. I stand corrected.. sorry po. Watched Curb your Enthusiasm at home then I cooked tapsilog for dinner.

I thank God for giving me so much blessings.. He's so good to me.

P.S. I was looking for my "Ninang atlast" post but I didn't write it pala.. so here are the pictures na lang..

Welcome to the Christian world PAULINE...
