SATC - The movie experience (part 2)

A week has passed and I still can't get enough of SATC. I rewatched season 1 the day after I saw the movie and finished the whole thing. Isn't that crazy! We also went to Barnes and Noble after church and found this book about behind the scenes stories from the ladies, their expensive costumes and insights on movie location. I found out that the Mexico scene was filmed in Malibu, CA which is an hour drive from our house and the scene when Carrie finally decided to go out to dinner and talk about what happened... it was filmed at the city where I work. =P Hollywood magic! I really want to buy it coz it's a must have for all SATC fans! But Darwin told me to check it in Amazon first and it's $10 less. So I decided not to buy it and just wait until I get my Amazon coupon from my credit card points.

My SATC dvd collection

Fabulous @ Barnes & Noble

Next thing you know, a mailman is knocking on my door with an Amazon box. It's the SATC movie book. Thanks Sweets, you're the best! I knew that he ordered it last Monday but I was still surprised when I got it yesterday.

Surprise!

Labels or Love

Shopping for labels, shopping for love
Manolo and Louis, it's all I'm thinking of
Shopping for labels, shopping for love
1, 2
Manolo and Louis, it's all I'm thinking of
1, 2, 3 Turn the lights on.

I already know what my addiction is
I be looking for labels, I ain't looking for love
I shop for purses while love walks out the door
Don't cry, buy a bag and get over it
And, I'm not concerned with all the politics
It's a lot of men I know I could find another.

What I know is that I'm always happy when I walk out the store, store
I'm guessing Supercalifragi-sexy, nothing to be playing with
I love him, hate him, kiss him, diss him, tryna to walk a mile in my kicks

[Chorus]
Love's like a runway but which one do I love more?
No emotional baggage, just big bags filled with Dior
Love's like a runway, so what's all the fussing for?
Let's stop chasing them boys and shop some more.
1, 2, 1, 2, 3, Turn the lights on.

I know I might come off as negative
I be looking for labels, I ain't looking for love
Relationships are often so hard to tame
A Prada dress has never broken my heart before
And, ballin's something that I'm fed up with
I'mma do the damn thing, watch me do the damn thing
Cause I know that my credit card will help me put out the flames
I'm guessing Supercalifragi-sexy, nothing to be playing with
I love him, hate him, kiss him, diss him, tryna to walk a mile in my kicks

[Chorus]
Love's like a runway but which one do I love more?
No emotional baggage, just big bags filled with Dior
Love's like a runway, so what's all the fussing for?
Let's stop chasing them boys and shop some more.
1, 2, 1, 2, 3, Turn the lights on.

Gucci, Fendi, Prada purses, purchasing them finer things
Men they come a dime a dozen, just give me them diamond rings
I'm into a lot of bling, Cadillac, Chanel and Coach
Fellas boast but they can't really handle my female approach
Buying things is hard to say
Rocking Christian Audigier, Manolo, Polo, taking photos in my Cartier
So we can't go all the way, I know you might hate it but
I'm a shop for labels while them ladies lay and wait for love

[Chorus]
Love's like a runway but which one do I love more?
No emotional baggage, just big bags filled with Dior
Love's like a runway, so what's all the fussing for?
Let's stop chasing them boys and shop some more.
1, 2, 1, 2, 3, Turn the lights on.

Shopping for labels, shopping for love
Manolo and Louis, it's all I'm thinking of
Shopping for labels, shopping for love

SATC - The movie experience (part 1)

I got a call from Darwin at work that SATC tix at Arclight are all sold out. I checked yahoo movies and I was in a panic mode coz I'd really want to see SATC the first night it comes out. I bought the tix online for 10:15pm show at The Grove, got home at 7ish, had dinner at 8ish, watched the Celtics game then left home at 9ish. I figured we have a lot of time to spare coz it's a 15 minute drive to our destination and we already have purchased the tix. When we reached The Grove, parking for the first 4 floors are full, there's a line outside the theater and people were either walking fast or running, it's crazy! Lots of SATC fans showed up and most of them are dressed up like they're going to a concert or a club. It's like an event!

Since I still need to pickup our tix at the guest service, I told Darwin to go in line so he can reserve our spot. There's 5 girls ahead of me and a gay guy who wants to sell his SATC ticket. I think one of his friends didn't show up. As I look around, there's a lot of fashionistas wearing their signature dress, shoes and purse. I should have taken picture from my iPhone so I can post it here =P

I got our tix, went inside the movie house but unfortunately, all side by side seats were taken. I'm so pissed off coz I now I had to return our tix to get a refund and go in line again.

When we got home, I immediately bought tix online but this time with reserved seating @ Arclight Hollywood. I got the sweet spot!

Let's Talk About Sex and the City

I saw this on the Pre-Movie ads of Snakes on a Plane last Saturday. It's an interview of each of the guys to talk about their memories of working on SATC. Here's some of it:

Excerpt from TBS Pressroom:
"Among the many inside stories to be featured during Let's Talk about Sex and the City, Blair Underwood talks about how he would want to date Samantha, but marry Charlotte. Mario Cantone talks about how people assume he can plan a wedding, but he says of himself, "I’m the worst, so hire someone else." Evan Handler jokingly talks about his responsibility of being a man on the show: "..to accept humiliation daily.." Willie Garson talks about his 20-year friendship with Sarah Jessica Parker and how that friendship showed through in their performances on the show. And David Eigenberg talks about how the clothes for the women on the show cost as much as $5,000 per episode, while the clothes for the men usually cost about $53."

There's only one episode left and it's TONIGHT! I Tivo'd it already. I hope there will be reruns.

"I've had it with these mother f-ing snakes on this mother f-ing plane"... This movie is hilarious.. and GROSS!!! A must see if you want to laugh and scream! I did. Oh, and think of the most ridiculous ways a person can be bitten by a snake.. kadiri talga =P

Chit chat and SATC marathon

I just found out that my account in angelfire was disabled where my mp3 file for this blog is stored... meaning I dont have any background sound here.. huhuhu. They dont allow file storage to access files outside of angelfire. I was able to catch Nelson online and I asked him if he knows any site that offers free file storage of more than 3MB per file. He's my resource in free apps over the net like time converter. He suggested yahoo but I know it stores upto 100kb only.

Ace is online too, my blockmate back in college. He told me that Noelle's gonna work at call center.. I got that news from Cherie when she visited me here. I heard this is the "IN" thing back home. So, Im kinda curious what they do. They support US customers so they come to work at night. He told me he's like "kabute" or mushroom coz his schedule changes every other week. It's hard to adjust if you're used to work at daytime. I think I wont survive that type of work. I'm a morning person... well who knows... as long as the pay is good.

Before I went to bed, I watched 3 episodes of Sex and the City. I like ep61 wherein Aidan officially moved to Carrie's apartment. His things are all over the place and so they decided to clean out her closet. Aidan moved her precious Manolos (I'm dreaming of having one... nuninuninu...) then Pete (the dog) starts gnawing on one of her fave stilettos. Then the fight started, they noticed each other's flaws until it heated up the argument and she headed off to Starbucks to make some space. She then realized the true reson why there are lots of single person in Starbucks.. it's not because they wanna meet someone there, it's just that when you move in together, and you had a fight, you have nowhere to go but Starbucks or Coffee Bean.. make sense dba. Then Carrie wonders, "When it comes to relationships, what are we fighting for?". Almost all relationships go thru fights, it's the time you test how stong the relationship is and then both parties compromise and learn from it.
