Easter Weekend

I was off from work for 2 days (Tuesday and Friday) which is good coz I was able to do spring cleaning and do some errands. I went to the bank to fix something on my account then bought stuff at Target for the easter egg hunt.

Wednesday, I went to St. Lourdes church 30 minutes earlier to confess coz last year, it took me 2 hours to wait at St. James of Borromeo coz of the loooong line. I know we have to sacrifice and all but that's just too much. It's a waste of time. So while waiting for the priest, I did the way of the cross. I used to do Visita Iglesia (see Visita 2004 and 2005) but since all the church are closed, I decided to just do everything in one church =P

I donated clothes for charity work

Saturday, I finally finished burning all pictures from last year. I have 8 GB of pictures so I have to burn it on 2 DVDs. I didnt even know I have that many until I dedicated 3 hours of managing all my photos. I also have a backup on our external hard drive then I have ofoto, yahoo photos and flickr.. talagang safe noh! So, while doing it, I'm watching the home videos which I transferred from VHS to DVD. I always laugh everytime I watch the music video I did with my brother. I think I was only 12 years old and we're singing "Let's Talk About Sex" by Salt n Pepa. My dad directed that scene and it aches a little when I heard his voice.

That afternoon, Darwin and I went to 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica to unwind. It's been a while since we went there so it's all good. We had a quick bite at Stefano's then we went shopping. I bought a striped top at Banana Republic and a cute top at the $15 dollar store. Afterwards, we went to Amoeba Music in Hollywood and I got myself The Matrix Collection DVD. I was actually having a dilemma on either getting that or Grey's Anatomy Season 2. But since I just saw the latter, I decided to get the Matrix.

Racks of DVDs and CDs.. this is heaven for me.. haha

LA City Lights @ Sunset and Vine

Sunday, we had an easter egg hunt at Tita Zita's house. It sort of a reunion too and there's a lot of food. Andrew is so cute picking up all those easter eggs. He actually liked the one I gave him. It's the yellow bus in one of the eggs.

Holy Week Devotion

Visita Iglesia 2005

We started our yearly devotion at 12noon after we had brunch (bacon and eggs.. yummy!!! thanks sweets).. I patterned the list of churches from the Visita Iglesia we had last year (see Visita 2004) except that we trimmed it down to 5 churches (coz we started really late) and we added St. Genevieve parish on our list. We recited 3 stations for every church and prayed our petitions. I hope you hear my prayers Jesus...

I played eHeads #1 hits from my iPod which I DL'd a few days ago (Aileen, I want to have that Anthology album too!!!) while we look for the next church coz the distance of every parish is pretty far. I told Darwin that in the PI, almost all radio stations are not on-air during holy week and if you're lucky enough to find a station that's on-air, you'll hear love songs.

1. St. Charles of Borromeo - This is my favorite church in the valley. I always want to hear mass here coz the it's very solemn and they have a cute priest ;)
2. St. Jane Frances - One staff asked us if we're there for confession.. we already did a few days ago ;)
3. St. Elisabeth - Darwin gave me to a short tour of Van Nuys Highschool where he graduated before we went to the church
4. Our Lady of Peace - They had the same decoration from last year. A lot of small butterflies flew out from nowhere when we left the church. We later learned that they migrated from the desert and they say that that only happens once every decade..
5. St. Genevieve (no image) - There are group of parishioners that prepares the play/ceremony for that night. We saw the florist who I met at Kate's wedding. (Happy Birthday Kate.. in case you're reading this)

After Visita, we visited Darwin's grandma and we ate lunch that his mom prepared. We went to Fry's afterwards to check if there's a sale or something. We ended up buying the slim case for the DVD. Watched 13 Going 30.. cute movie.. while eating spaghetti.

Easter Sunday Vigil
Woke up early for the "Salubong" in Our Lady of the Valley at Canoga Park. I havn't attended salubong for a long time coz I usually attend the easter vigil held on Saturdays. I think the last time I attended salubong was when I'm 5 coz I'm one of the angels. We thought we're late coz the mass is supposed to start at 4am but when we got there, the church is still close. I'm too excited to see Darwin dressed up coz he'll play as one of Jesus' apostles. The salubong was held inside the church and it started with little children (as angels) singing. The actors that represents Jesus and Mary met at the altar then there came the apostles. I can't distinguish Darwin coz I dont have my eye glasses with me so I kept squinching my eyes. I took one shot of them so I can zoom-in from my digicam and I'd know where Darwin is situated. I finally saw him and I cant help but smile at him coz he looks cute with that wig. I told him he looks like a hippie =P (will post pix soon). I'm sorry if we weren't able to attend the fellowship. I prepared pancake for breakfast as my peace offering and we patched things up. Slept all day..

That afternoon, we want to see Sony's PSP at Best Buy in Burbank but its closed. It's weird coz all stores SHOULD be open for Easter sale then I remember it's Easter egg hunting. We decided to drop by at his mom's house and we watched the DVDs we're selling (Ray and Princess Diary 2) =P Ate dinner, watched The Contender then we had chit-chats. We left at 9ish. My cousin called me to catch up on things and I found out that Pops and Regine will have a concert next week in LA coz my tita will watch it. I guess all tickets are sold out already. Well who cares.. im not gonna watch it anyway.. hehehe =P
