Wifi game

Right after hearing mass, I went to Mickey Dees for dinner coz they have wifi internet. That way I can play Animal Crossing or Mario Kart DS while I'm eating... It's like hitting two birds with one stone. Nice =P

Jill called me that night and I found out she's leaving for Manila on Tuesday. We did a lot of catching up. While we're on the phone, the CHP officer pulled her over for speeding. She called me afterwards and she told me that the police didn't even bother to ask her why she was pulled over. She's really funny. I know it's the month-end and these guys need to reach their quota. We talked until she gets home. I miss you girl. Take care!

Basti of Wolfgang!!!

I was just searching myspace and I found this...

I didn't know that he has a new band called Lokomotiv and they're based here in the OC!!! They'll have a show on APRIL 29 (Saturday) at THE VIPER ROOM.. Hmmm, should I go? This is crazy!!! I'm a BIG fan!!!

Anyway, speaking of live music... last Saturday I was at Genghis Cohen with Darwin and his co-worker Andrew and we watched Brian Buckley's show. It was alright. It's not the kind of music that I listen to but it's ok. The music room is like a church, with bench sitting and it's small, which makes it intimate. We had dinner before watching the show and the wait was just sooo long. It took us 45 minutes before we get a table. When we do get seated, we ordered queen chicken and walnut shrimp (my fave!!!). The food was delicious and they serve in big plates (hmm.. that's why it's expensive).

Before the month ends...

Last night, I watched "Dont Give Up On Us" by Judy Ann and Piolo Pascual. It's a feel good movie. I cried twice =( I felt her heartaches, but it has a good ending. Anyways, this is a busy month for me since my mom stayed for two weeks. Here's a quick rundown on what happened.

Hollywood and Highland
Mom arrived in LA on March 1 with AJ and Kheem. We went to church for ash wednesday then we had dinner at Pink's Hotdog. Afterwards, we hang-out at Hollywood and Highland and had coffee at Starbucks. We watched Gulong ng Palad thru Slingbox (it's a new found technology by Darwin). It's connected at his Tivo so I can watch the pre-recorded and live shows remotely.. Cool huh!!

I had their famous Chili (pronounced "Chee-chee" by the cook) Hotdog

I also got my new cellphone. It's a Motorola Pink Razr V3. I know, I'm a NOKIA user and I was NEVER a flip phone fan, but while I was reading the reviews, the specs, its features and the *pink* COLOR (they only had it in gray before), I never had second thoughts of getting it. I ordered the car charger and USB modem in ebay. I can now transfer pictures to and from my cellphone and create ring tones (my fave are Stickwitu, You're Beautiful, Pon de Replay)

The Getty Musuem
We had lunch at Versailles then we headed to the Getty. I've been wanting to go there since I always see it along 405. There's no entrance fee, all you have to pay is the parking fee. If you decide to go there by bus, you dont need to pay anything!!! And I wonder, how do they maintain the musuem if they don't charge anything? His collection was just magnificent. What I really want to see is the Irises by Van Gough (note the sole white iris amongst the common blue irises). Besides the art, it's an architectural marvel too. The panoramic view of Los Angeles is amazing from the Getty. I'd love to stay longer but we have to do other things.

Shopping, donation, errands, dvds
I got sick but that didn't stop me from showing mom around =P We went to Westside Pavilion on March 7 coz she wants to buy something at Victoria Secret and Guess. We met up with Darwin since he's around the area and we had dinner. March 11, we had breakfast at iHop, then went to Goodwill donation center to drop-off some of my old things. We went to Target afterwards to buy a sweat suit for mom. Darwin stopped by for awhile then we watched DVDs: Perfect Man, Pride and Prejudice, Walk the Line. March 12, we went to Century Mall and we both got new purses. Actually, I don't want to buy a purse but when we saw this Coach scribbled hobo bag, I fell in love with it. Since I bought it, there will be ZERO gimik for me. =P Mom took the Banana Republic leather bag that's coming out this Fall. That night, we went to hear mass with Darwin then we had dinner at Max's.

Lakers game
Before the game, mom was with AJ since he's visiting. They went to Ashes and Snow gallery at Santa Monica. They said it's good so I might check it out too. After work, I met them at my apartment then we went to Staples Center. Mom was so excited since this will be the first time she'll see the Lakers play. It was a good game since we WON against Timberwolves!!!

Lakers won by 3 points. Final score: 92-89. It's one hella exciting game

Bon Voyage Mom

I'm missing my mom now. I should have hugged her longer.. We should have talked deeper.. We really had fun the last couple of days.. we watched the Lakers game and we cheered like crazy. we went shopping at Nordstrom rack and found lots of good deals. She loves to cook for me even though I told her to just dine-out. We watched a lot of DVDs and TFCs together.

There were lots of emotions when it's finally time to say good-bye. I wish I can be with her longer. I'd like her to stay but she has to go and do things back home. Good thing mom is a web saavy and she knows how to chat and setup the webcam. I'm really missing her. She told me that I should make a list of big plans and not just my to-do list. I will not disappoint her. I will also try to go to church everyday and pray to Him and thank Him for all the graces He gave me.

See you soon mom! Take care!!!

Perpetual Sickness

My drugs =P This is the worst feeling ever!!! I had so many things that I wanna do today.. but since I'm sooo sick I have to stay home =( On the bright side, I have more reasons to update my blog.. it's been awhile you know..

I just saw "The Perfect Man".. I had this movie on my laptop waiting to be burned. And since my mom already saw almost all of my new DVDs.. I burned it this morning before she went to church. It's a feel good movie.. I hope I find my perfect man =)

Take it easy everyone.. Stay warm!
