DAY 1
We left the valley at 8ish last Sep 9 to go to Vegas.. We didn't really plan going to Vegas not until Wednesday when we decided to spend the weekend in Sin City. I havn't even packed my things yet.. that's how unprepared we were =P But I still managed to prepare a checklist on what to bring, food to eat, etc. The freeway is empty (Thank God) maybe coz it's the weekend after the holiday (Labor Day). It's my first Vegas trip this year, the last time was when we went to Grand Canyon.
I didn't sleep this time. We had a very interesting topic such as how's Angel doing, his new tricks, what's goin on at work, and evolution. I asked a lot of questions and shared some ideas too.. Check Darwin's site for details (here). We stopped over at Barstow (as always) to stretch and drink some coffee. I'm still not sleepy.. I'm so pumped up with our topic, I almost lost my voice. hehehe

Rest at Starbucks in Barstow (we're halfway to Vegas)
First stop is the gas station and gas price is way too cheap here compared to LA. 87 octane averages at $2.70/gallon only while in LA that's $3.10/gallon. Damn.. While Darwin is pumping gas, I took a shot of Mandalay Bay and took the advice of my co-worker to use ISO 400 at night. It worked.. I never had luck taking good pictures at night. Cool!!! We parked at Mandalay Bay, looked for Paigaw table (there's only a few and it's all full, that sucks..we didnt play.), used the Tram to go to Luxor, took pictures since I havn't been there, then we went to downtown Vegas and played Paigow. I only coached Darwin coz I dont have the guts and I might lose all his money.. we won actually but that game really made me so tensed. Ate dinner at PG (Philippine Garden) that Darwin's been bragging about since his Vegas trip with his cousins last July. =P The food is good, we didn't drink though since we already had it at the casino.

DAY 2
At 11ish, we checked out then we decided to go Wynn Resort. It's the latest hotel in Vegas and I heard this has the most expensive room at the strip. I love everything.. from the carpet, the lights, the shops (didn't get a chance to see Manolo Blahnik though, where is it? hehehe) and even the lamps but what really caught my attention is the Ferrari Exhibition.. woooh! there's a lot of it! We had buffet at Wynn and the food is delicious... everything tastes good. After lunch, we hanged out at Fashion Show mall, checked iPod Nano at Apple store (damn, that's really small) and played our nintendogs. Went back to Wynn Resort then we headed to Ceasar's Palace.. we're so tired so we took a nap inside the car.. poor us. hehehe We didn't stay that long at Ceasar's so we went to Bellagio. I didn't like the theme of their botanical garden. It changes every season and this didn't catch my attention. We had dinner at King and I thai resto then we stayed at Darwin's uncle for the night.

DAY 3
I had a long, nice sleep =) We had breakfast at Tito Abet's place that Tita Emmy prepared.. yummy! She cooked beans, bacon & eggs. They're so nice for letting us stay at their new house. They also have a visitor other than us, it is Tita Emmy's sister and her hubby... Stewart.. He's one kind of a fella. I like his accent. He's from Scotland but I dunno if his accent is British coz it's kinda Irish too.. Anyway we talked about his wedding on how everything stopped coz he's wearing this red plaid skirt.. hahaha funny guy.. then he explained to me what UK consists of (he even drew a map on a tissue).. I didn't know that Ireland is divided into 2 regions... Northern Ireland is part of UK while South Ireland is part of Europe. We left Vegas at 11ish, stopped by at Best Buy and Primms, had lunch at Barstow, then pumped some gas. We listend to Phil Hendrie's podcast and the topic that made me laugh my heart out was the one about steaks. According to his character (as a restaurant owner in Beverly Hills) if customer asks for a well done steak, it insults him coz it's like you're paranoid of getting a mad cow disease and that you're more afraid than the military sent to Iraq... I dont get the connection but the way he argues with the caller made me laugh... =P Got home safe.

i totally love that mandalay bay at night pic :) yep, the higher the ISO, the more sensitive to light, therefore, best for dark scenes/night shots. the more light (outdoor/day time shot) you have, the less ISO you'll need to use in your cam ;-)
naks, addicted to nintendogs ah! hmm, that hasn't caught on yet over here in the Phils.
Hey.. Thanks =) I don't know anything about ISO before (til recently) coz usually, I set my camera to Auto as my default settings and I just take A LOT of pictures so I can choose what's best.. I'm thinking abt taking photography classes too but I dunno, I don't have enough idle time nowadays. =P
