My teeny weeny secret
Last Thursday (6/24), I accidently broke the 5th season DVD of Sex and the City while removing it from its case. I panicked... I dont want Darwin to find out about it so I placed an order at Buy.com I chose 3 day shipping so that I'll be able to receive it by Tuesday. Friday, Darwin surprised me (again) =). I have no idea that he's gonna pick me up from work. He asked me where the said DVD because before that, he stayed in my apartment na pala and he wants to watch it. So I reasoned out and told him that I forgot the DVD from work. He doubted me.. I learned that he snooped at my email and read my dvd order at Buy.com.. HULI AKO!!! I explained and he listened.. so ok na =) Monday night, I got so worried coz the status of my order is already SHIPPED, meaning someone received it and I was not informed. Tuesday, I looked for it and I found it from my co-worker's desk. To my surprise, I got the whole set... I'M SO LUCKY!!! I never reported it.. hehehe

Celeb Sighting
June 25 (Fri)
Yeah, at last I saw a Hollywood star other than Queen Latifah (Century Mall) and Jackie Chan (Brookstone at Beverly Center). Darwin spotted Owen Wilson and he immediately told me that he's at the cashier's counter of the music store where we're at. I'm busy listening to Sarah McLachlan's album and if he didnt told me, i might have missed it (again). I was telling Darwin earlier that I didnt see any movie stars since last year and he told me that maybe the reason why I cant spot a movie star is because I have poor eyesight. Yeah, I'm thinking of switching from eyeglasses to contact lenses.
June 26 (Sat)
Went to Westside Pavilion and we got lost. It's only 2.21 miles from my apartment (est 6 minutes). We thought that the cross street of Pico where the mall is at Olympic, but it's Westwood. That's the reason we cant see it.. Olympic and Pico si parallel to each other. I should have checked mapquest first for direction.. here's the link.. APARTMENT to WESTSIDE PAVILION LESSON: Never assume and check MAPQUEST always.
We should have gone to San Diego this day but there were some issues that's why I didnt feel like going anymore. Excited pa naman ako mag jetski, but I wont die if I dont go there.. San Diego will always be there so maybe I'll get there some other time..
I dont have any SUMMER plans yet coz my mom's gonna stay with me from July 5 to 25th before she leaves for Manila. I really wanna go and swim to the beach but I need to slim down first.. super taba ko na ... YUCK!
June 27 (Sun)
Darwin bought a home gym in Sports Chalet and I got a body lotion from Bath and Body Works. I tried doing sit-ups on his home gym after he had assembled it and I had 60!!!! My goal is to be as sexy as Jessica Alba (in my dreams.. hehehe)

Movie Addict
I watched 50 First Dates and Pulp Fiction, I'll give the reviews later...
I just signed-up for a 2 years supply of DVDs at Columbiahouse.com, I get to choose 5 DVDs for only 49c each and agree to buy 5 more DVDs within the next two years. Here's what i selected:
1) Legends of the Fall - I haven't seen this yet
2) Unfaithful - neither this
3) How to Loosa a Guy in 10 days - nor this
4) Titanic - my all time fave. call me cheesy but it is.. hehehe
5) The Princess Bride - my first choice is Zoolander but since it's not available, I chose this instead. I like this move back early 90s
I was having second thoughts before I gave my credit card info since I made the purchase online. Darwin's gonna tell me what's the catch behind it before I place the order.. (of course there is.. who would give out those DVDs that cheap? hehehe) but whatdhell.. I'm a MOVIE ADDICT.. Actually, from the 250 selections listed on their site, I have seen almost 95% of it =)

Chit chat and SATC marathon
I just found out that my account in angelfire was disabled where my mp3 file for this blog is stored... meaning I dont have any background sound here.. huhuhu. They dont allow file storage to access files outside of angelfire. I was able to catch Nelson online and I asked him if he knows any site that offers free file storage of more than 3MB per file. He's my resource in free apps over the net like time converter. He suggested yahoo but I know it stores upto 100kb only.
Ace is online too, my blockmate back in college. He told me that Noelle's gonna work at call center.. I got that news from Cherie when she visited me here. I heard this is the "IN" thing back home. So, Im kinda curious what they do. They support US customers so they come to work at night. He told me he's like "kabute" or mushroom coz his schedule changes every other week. It's hard to adjust if you're used to work at daytime. I think I wont survive that type of work. I'm a morning person... well who knows... as long as the pay is good.
Before I went to bed, I watched 3 episodes of Sex and the City. I like ep61 wherein Aidan officially moved to Carrie's apartment. His things are all over the place and so they decided to clean out her closet. Aidan moved her precious Manolos (I'm dreaming of having one... nuninuninu...) then Pete (the dog) starts gnawing on one of her fave stilettos. Then the fight started, they noticed each other's flaws until it heated up the argument and she headed off to Starbucks to make some space. She then realized the true reson why there are lots of single person in Starbucks.. it's not because they wanna meet someone there, it's just that when you move in together, and you had a fight, you have nowhere to go but Starbucks or Coffee Bean.. make sense dba. Then Carrie wonders, "When it comes to relationships, what are we fighting for?". Almost all relationships go thru fights, it's the time you test how stong the relationship is and then both parties compromise and learn from it.

* Me, Myself and I *
Darwin just told me that he wont write here in our bloggie anymore since he already have xanga.. too bad.. now i need to change the URL since it's just all me, myself and I...
Last Saturday, I watched MTV movie awards.. got really bored after that so I did some friendster browsing. I'm really not into surveys and stuffs coz it's too personal, but there's one from my bulletin which is REALLY easy to answer. You dont even need to think that deep, it's just whatever that pops into your head..
At 3pm, that's when the party started... I attended 3 parties in a row, Birthday party of Jun's nephew at Balboa park and graduation party of Sherinie and Zen. It's nice to see the Boyz of Van Nuys again.. ang kulit pa rin nila, especially the kambals. Had a chit-chat with Roanne and her sister...then Eric interrepted us asking if everything's fine... as if he's the one who's holding the party. He realized that too and we all laughed. The discussion was mostly on what one wears and if it's new.. and BSing each other.. Im just one of the audience, I dont participate that much... not unless im involved.
Next stop. MALL. Bought a Princess Di book for mom and an impromptu gift for Sherinie. Ate dinner at Sherinie's place, kulitan uli. James Taylor is being played and I told them that that's what my dad hums me to sleep (as if they care ano... hehehe). We left for Zen's party right after Jun arrived. Eat again but now, i only had dessert. There are kids, oldies and 20 something peeps... No beer.. just soda and coffee. One of the guys at the other group gave me Tequila shot when they got tired of soda and coffee.. but im not into it.. call me KJ but i dont feel like drinkin that night. Accidentally, my drink spilled all over the place because Eric left and the gym bar where im seating at got unbalanced. I almost fell, good thing I was able to stand at once.
Sunday, watched Laker's game, we lost 3-1. Our sports commentators was featured in that game and they spoke Taglish.
Line of the day.. "Oh my gaw!" ~ Jessica Simpson from MTV's Newlyweds. Here's a review from TV without Pity I'd love to reminisce my snowboarding experience in Mammoth too (see February post). Here's some similarities I noticed.. =)
The Newlyweds at the chair lift contemplating before hitting the slope
The guys, June and Chris.. having fun while being lifted up the first slope. Darwin took this picture.
Jessica picked up snowboarding very quickly.. I had the same shot taken by darwin at Mammoth last Feb 2004.. see below, gaya-gaya si Jessica.. hehehe
It's fun snowboarding, when we got there.. it's snowing. Perfect timing aight.. I'd love to go back there again, but next year I'll buy my gears coz I only rent my board and snowboots... at that time I've second thoughts on doing it.. it's fun pala =)
I know it's already SUMMER but I cant help but reminisce.. from left..June, Sherinie, Allan, Zen, Warren, me, Darwin, Roanne, Raf, Chris, and Paolo

I cant wait to watch Fight Club. We rented it lastnight at Hollywood videos. I'm browsing over the internet to get more information and read reviews but I dont see that much. Anyway, Lakers game last night was frustrating. I just dont see them giving enough effort to win the game.. both defense and REBOUND sucks. Im sure they'll make a comeback on Sunday. They SHOULD win this time or else it would really be hard for them. Darwin asked me earlier what to do to shake off this bad laker feeling.. Clubbing or watch Fight Club??? I'd rather watch Fight Club =) I dunno, let's see later. Mood might change...
I just got an email yesterday from Forces that Ajie's twins was baptized last Sunday. Aileen and Charo are one of the godmothers. We were the bridesmaid when she got married last 2002. I wonder where our pictures are, I dont have any with me coz di pa uso digicam that time. I wish I was in Pinas to witness that, I might be one of the godmothers too =) ... Ajie's the first in our barkada who got married and had kids. We're just waiting for Ivy (in Canada) to bear a child too..
Cherie called me yesterday that she might stay here in the US to work. I gave her my contact person at the recruitment agency. I heard she has an interview scheduled this afternoon. I'll just wait for the update.
My friends back in college called me if I can go with them for Kayaking.. I've never done kayak before and I want to try it, you know me.. wanna try EVERYTHING as much as possible.. Problem is, there's a conflict in my sked coz mom will be here in LA from Jul 17 to 24 and the kayaking plan is scheduled on July 17. So I just told them if there's gonna be a next plan to go kayak, i'll definitely go..
It's Friday.. yipee!!!

What kind of soul do I posses?
You have a free soul! As all the souls go, yours is
the most free-spirited and adventurous. You
like camping, hiking, or interaction with other
people. Your a social butterfly, but not
because of your style, but because of your
willingness to communicate with everyone. You
probably have close friends who can rely on you
because you always seem to know whats going on
in the world. You love music and are
free-spirited and someone fun to be around. A
born leader and great explorer-dont ever
change-the world needs more people like you.
******
I got this from Quizilla. It's amazing how close the result is. Sweets create your own din =)

BAD DAY
I feel bad today, Im too emotional, why is this happening to me? I cant sleep, there are lot of things bothering me... including what's gonna be my boss' decision tomorrow. I hope it's all good.
What's bothering me.. Well, I cant stop thinking why are there bullies (A) and those that are being bullied (B). I just dont get it. One should have the free will to choose whichever he wants and not be controlled upon. I just dont get how a person let himself fall into the same thing and get scared whenever he is threatened in a situation that will affect friendship. Is there really something called a "BULLY FRIEND"? Well, as for me I've never encountered anyone like that (thank God!) I do believe that friends must understand and support each other not pressure each other on whatever decision to make. It's a give and take thing. There should always be a compromise. What's bad is you know that it's happening but you just let it go. "A" might think it's all good, not knowing that she's hurting someone, someone's close to "B". What's REALLY BAD, is "B" keeps on defending "A". Whhhhaaat? I guess that's how it works?
To keep myself busy, I cleaned my bathroom, changed my beddings, chat, and surf the internet.

** NOW PLAYING **
SPENDING TIME WITH YOU
I close my eyes and fantasize
And I just imagine
A tropical island
We're all alone
Our pagers and cell phones cut off
Hot sunny heat
Cool ocean breeze
The sand beneath our feet
The crashing waves are like music
Found a place to sleep
Passion fruit to eat
Use all our energy
Under the moonlight making love
I don't think nothing can compare
Nothing better than
Nothing better than
Nothing better than
Spending time with you
Nothing better than
Nothing better than
Nothing better than
Spending time with you
You are my angel
Heaven is close
My favorite place is where you are
So we don't have to do nothin' special
Don't wanna run
It's always fun to chill at home
Monday through Friday
Sexy Saturday
Easy Sunday
Cause every day's a special one
Just like a holiday
Vacation getaway
After the foreplay
Go room to room makin' sweet love
I don't think nothing can compare
Nothing better than
Nothing better than
Nothing better than
Spending time with you
(Spending time with you)
Nothing better than
(Yeah yeah)
Nothing better than
(Ohhhwhoaoo)
Nothing better than
Spending time
(Spending time)
I need time
Morning, noon and night
Just keep it coming, baby
Just keep me coming, baby
I just love it so much...hmm
Spending time with you
That's all I wanna do...hmm
That's all I wanna do
(Ooooo)
Nothing better than
(Anytime)
Nothing better than
(Or any place)
Nothing better than
(I'm)
Spending time with you
Nothing better than
(As friends)
Nothing better than
(I'm so content)
Nothing better than
(Cause I'm)
Spending time with you
With my baby
Yeah
(Ohhh with my baby)
Nothing better than
(I love that...hmm...ohh...God, I just love listning to that)
Nothing better than
Nothing better than

The Day after Tomorrow

Darwin and I just saw the movie last night with his cousin, Kate. I'm really not into watching it because I had a feeling that it's gonna be the same as the disaster movies I've seen before. But since there were good reviews, cge na nga and we want to treat Kate out. Inside the movie house of Topanga Mall (I think this is the only theater in LA which is connected to the mall), Kate and I continued talking about the movies we saw, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and her experience here in America. The movie already started and we still continued chatting until we were ssssh'd by one of the movie-goers. Darwin was like deadma lang pero dyahe tlaga. hehehe. Kate and I were like kids giggling.
Anyway, it made me think if I really have ADD so I searched the net and here's what I found.
Excerpts from http://www.add.org/
The most common core features include:
1) distractibility (poor sustained attention to tasks)
2) impulsivity (impaired impulse control and delay of gratification)
3) hyperactivity (excessive activity and physical restlessness)
Symptoms or behaviors associated with ADD:
1) Having a LOT of difficulty sustaining attention.
2) Making careless mistakes, not paying attention to detail.
3)The child or adult with ADD often "doesn't seem to listen", seems tuned out.
4) Children fail to follow instructions, don't get schoolwork or chores done.
5) Lots and lots of difficulty with organization, keeping track of things.
6) Losing things often -- particularly things like supplies, homework, papers, etc.
7) Getting easily distracted by outside stimuli, like people talking or things going on outside the window
8) Forgetting to do things -- very frequently, which means things don't get done
9) Physical restlessness for some people, fidgeting, can't sit still, etc.
10) For many children, a lot of difficulty remaining seated, waiting in line, etc.
11) Being physically "on the go" for some people, overactive in their behavior
12) For children, having difficulty playing quietly or co-operating within a group
13) Reacting impulsively, without thinking first -- with ADHD it is often a matter of "act before you think," instead of "think before you act"!!
~ I think I'm hyper and super-charged all the time and I loose thing often. But that's it, so meaning I don't have ADD. When I talk to a person, sometimes I interrupt them in the middle of the sentence. Darwin gets mad everytime it happens coz he thinks I'm not paying attention or that I'm not interested. If I dont say what's on my mind, I might forget it. I know it's a bad habit. I can pay a lot better attention when I'm taking a walk or listening to music or even when I'm in a crowded, noisy room than when I'm still and surrounded by silence.

The Hollywood sign is knocked flat by twisters.
Back to what happened last night, the first half the movie is so impressive & full of action, which makes the second part (with more 'talking') a bit long. It makes you long for more spectacle, but it takes a while before something big happens again.
After the movie, we went to Barne's (as usual) then head out to Sanamluang for dinner, it's been a week since I had Thai food kaya good choice sweetie. When we got there, It's so packed with youngsters... imagine, it's not weekend. Oh-summer starts here after memorial day.. that explains it. I didnt realize it's already 12mn until I saw Manila's time in one the big wall clocks.
